The day started out sunny and clear and fresh… Lots of playtime with our granddaughter Eliza. Susie went to have a special massage (a birthday gift from Kim & Johnny). No sooner did she get home all relaxed, and it was time to set up the baby pool and get some rays! Eliza started to get in the water, when Susie stepped off the deck wrong, landing in the grass and badly sprained her ankle. Oh, how my heart stopped…
We got the next door neighbor Josh to help get her into the car and took off for the emergency room. Kevin was out for the afternoon and unreachable by phone, playing ultimate frisbee so John Crowell drove Susie and I to the hospital. After spending 3 hours there, we were ready to go home. No break, but a sprained ankle, encased in an aircast.
It was quite a sight to see a very pregnant woman moving along on crutches (picture to follow if Susie lets me). We got home and found the next door neighbors Josh and Andrea had invited all of us over for a birthday Bar-B-Q. It was nice to be out in their backyard, enjoying the kids and relaxing. Kevin and 7 yr old Bella engaged in the water gun fight of the century and both were soaked when it was all over. We went back to Susie & Kevin’s house and we left shortly after Eliza went to bed, as we needed a good night’s sleep after the events of the day and all the travel. I don’t even know what time zone my body is functioning on at this point!!
My camera better arrive tomorrow as I rarely think to use my iPhone camera to take photos… I have missed some pretty good and memorable shots so far!
