Leaving Pacific Time Zone after two months…

Saturday, August 3, 2013. Miles traveled: 316. Phillips RV Park, Evanston, WY. Low: 50 ; High: 85. Elevation: 6,749 feet.

We lost an hour as we drove east to the Mountain Time Zone. My back is a bit better today but tomorrow is the last day of muscle relaxer pills. I will rely on Thermacare heat wraps and a heating pad in camp. We started seeing higher mountains, pinon trees, and it was greener for a while. Then, we came to the Bonneville Salt Flats… Blinding white salt over the ground on both sides of the road.

And, we have been seeing so many freight trains… most are a long string of coal cars in the distance.

Sunday, August 4, 2013. Miles traveled: 361. A.B. Camping RV Park, Cheyenne, WY. Low: 48 ; High: 76. Elevation: 6,064 feet.

Being the navigator on an interstate highway when the Garmin GPS is enabled and doing it’s job leaves the passenger free to look around while we speed along…

Monday, August 5, 2013. Miles traveled: 328. Kearney RV Park, Kearney, NE. Low: 55 ; High: 85. Elevation: 2,142 feet.

Nebraska was flat, lots of farms and cornfields, and it was starting to feel like a sauna outside. The farther east we go, the hotter and more humid it gets…
