Santa Fe Skies RV Park… Santa Fe, NM

Monday, June 16, 2014 – elevation: 6,391 feet

When we arrived in Santa Fe, we got a campsite for one night at Santa Fe Skies RV Park…

We chose this campground for it’s Verizon 4G hotspot coverage. Level sites, gravel roads, concrete patio slab, and we got the last site with a shade tree. The next day we re-upped for 2 more nights, and after that, 5 more nights. It’s a nice place to set up our camp and plan our day trips in the area. The landscaping is beautiful… so many native grasses and wildflowers are planted around the campground. There is one central building with the office, bathrooms and showers, and laundry, and other rooms I haven’t explored yet. The bathrooms are the nicest I have ever found in an RV Park… The campground wifi is sporadic, depending on how many others are online. But, our 4G hotspot works really well here.

  1. Holly, we stayed at Santa Fe Skies on our very first trip in our fifth wheel in 2006. Ask them in the office about taking the high road to Taos and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. It’s a beautiful day trip from the RV park. Be sure to have some of that yummy Northern New Mexico food while you are there. I walked Blondie on that very same trail. I remember there was lots of lavender blooming when we were there in July. We really enjoyed our stay there and the funny thing is when we left home we didn’t even plan on going to Santa Fe! Have fun!

We hadn’t planned on going south to Santa Fe, either! Although, it turns out John was thinking about it while I was thinking Montana and Wyoming… But, that’s the way we travel. And, I love it when you find a place you like and you can stay as long as you like! There are so many things to do on a day trip from here… We have been to the Rio Grande Gorge and we will be moving camp further north to Taos. I will hate to leave this place.

We too stayed at this RV Park and you are so right about the restrooms…..very nice. We found it to be a great location to explore Santa Fe. 🙂

Looks like a great campground. Maybe John and I should explore that area when we go out to Albuquerque in September.

Sherry, I hope you have the time. There are so many day trips one can do from here! We are staying another week at this campground. It is wonderful to stay in one place this long!!

Seems like a little piece of paradise for you both! So glad you are enjoying your travels. Stay safe!

Hey Lynne… it is a piece of paradise. We are going to stay here longer… we keep re-upping our stay at the campground. It is so nice to be able to do that. On our early trips out west, we did a lot of one nighters at a lot of different campgrounds and covered a lot of the country. Now that we are re-visiting places we haven’t been to in 15 or 20 years, it’s nice to be able to stay put in one place and enjoy it. Definitely, a different kind of trip for us! Our plan when we leave here is to head further north, depending on the weather.
